Books Read Update 4: Tiny Review & Rating

Hey everyone, this post is round four of books read update with my tiny reviews & ratings which is just some of the books I read in the many months since I've blogged regularly (which has been such a long time, sorry guys!). This post is dedicated to those books I've read with some brief adjectives and/or thoughts of mine on each book and my rating. Without further ado these are some of the books that I've read in the past few months:

Matched by Ally Condie (Hardback)
5 stars: an original dystopian story with great characters, set in the future where the government controls everything and chooses your mate for you, loved it!, crazy suspenseful ending, super excited to read the sequel, definitely recommended

Outside In: Insider Book 2 by Maria V. Snyder (Netgally eBook)
5 stars: good sequel to Inside Out, not as exciting as the first but continues Trella's story as she is the leader and fights once again for her people and what is right, many secrets and twists revealed, great combination of love, adventure, and fantasy

Cloaked by Alex Flinn (Paperback)
4 stars: cute retelling of The Frog Prince story, 3rd fairy-tale retelling story I've read by Flinn and just as good as the others, happy fairy-tale ending, just enough humor and romance to make the story enjoyable for both girls and guys

Wish by Alexandria Bullen (Kindle eBook)
4 stars: quick cute read, a little juvenile at times but heartbreaking as well, surprised by how much I got into the story, enjoyed the "magic" of the story, good debut novel, interested in reading the sequel

Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers (Paperback)
5 stars: powerful story of a mean girl's fall from the top to the bottom, an unlikable main character that by the end you will grow to finally like and understand, impactful and crazy that will leave you thinking long after reading it, can't wait to read more by Summers

Divergent by Veronica Roth (Hardback)
5 stars: my favorite book of the year!, one of the best dystopian novels, amazing story and characters, read it in a day at work, forbidden romance, sad tragic ending (I cried), cannot wait to read the sequel!

Shut Out by Kody Keplinger (ARC Paperback)
4 stars: hilarious story about the revenge of the girlfriends on their boyfriends, love triangle, fast-paced, read all in one sitting, looking forward to reading Keplinger's next book

City of Bones: Mortal Instruments Book 1 by Cassandra Clare (Paperback)
4 stars: expected more since I've heard such rave reviews but overall was pretty good, interesting and unique plot with some very lovable characters, suspenseful and many surprising events, will be reading the sequels

Straight Talk by Tera Lynn Childs (Kindle eBook)
5 stars: another enjoyable cute romantic read by Childs, funny and quick paced, easy to fall for the characters, did not want the story to end it was so fun to read, perfect ending

Love Story by Jennifer Echols (Paperback)
4 stars: not one of Echols' best but enjoyable nonetheless, easy to relate to, especially liked the main character and the romance aspect, read quickly just wishing the whole time the two will end up together, excited to read more of her books hopefully very soon!

Chain Reaction: Perfect Chemistry Book 3 by Simone Elkeles (Hardback)
5 stars: no secret of how much I've fallen for Fuentes boys and their stories, each brother had an impactful dark story but the youngest Luis' was probably the best, loved the twists and especially the new characters, interesting to read both of their point of views, I'm sad that it is the end but very content with how it all ended, hopefully Elkeles will write a new book soon that I'll tear through and love once again!

How It Ends by Laura Wiess (Paperback)
5 stars: surprisingly powerful, begins a little slow but by the end it will make you want to cry, what the old lady and her husband next door went through was just crazy, heartwarming when you learn the truth, definitely would recommend reading
