Blog History:
After joining Simon PulseIt's new interactive community website, I stumbled upon a couple of book blogs. After finding one book blog, it was never-ending the amount of other ones I found in the process. I was so amazed and in love with the book blogs I came across, I just knew I had to start one of my very own. After a month of seeing and comparing others, I created mine using the lovely blogspot. Since August 2009, my blog has bloomed from tiny, pathetic reviews with a small following to a much better written blog with many amazing people graciously following. I encourage anyone who loves to read any genre, to start your own book blog...you will not regret it. I absolutely adore the blogosphere!
About Me (Adrienne):
I'm an Addicted Book Reader because I love, love, love to read! I loved to read since I was a little girl and became addicted after my big sister gave me a copy of the first Harry Potter book to read. I instantly fell in love with the Harry Potter series so much and haven't stopped reading since then.
I have so many amazing childhood memories from reading and going to the library. I remember my sister and I would go to the library and come home with stacks and stacks of books. We always signed up for our library's summer reading program, where we counted up how minutes we read and then won prizes based on the amount of minutes we read. We participated in the library's book talks where we received a free book, then go see the author discuss the book and have a pizza party after the discussion. Some of my favorite authors now (I wish I could go back and talk to them now that I'm older and have read more of their books) like Laurie Halse Anderson and Margaret Peterson Haddix spoke at these events. The very first chapter books I can recall reading were The Berenstain Bears... I would check out like five at a time and finish them so quickly.
Right now, I'm 23 and currently just wandering through this journey called life. I took about a 3 year break from blogging, so I am more than ready to relive my passion for reading and reviewing them on here! I'm currently taking some time off from college where I majored in Professional Writing and minored in Literary Studies for 7 semesters. Some of my favorite things to do are reading, blogging, swimming, being creative, binge watching tv series and moves, and jamming out to music. I have read tons of amazing books over the span of many years, including some not so good ones. I, however, still have hundreds more to read on my shelves and in my TBR pile. On my blog, I post my honest opinion as well as host contests, participate in bookish memes, and many other book related or random things. Currently, the future is unclear where I will land but would absolutely love to spend the rest of my life reading, writing, and working with books.
